First April Weekend Planner

There are so many good sights and sounds this weekend. Enjoy concerts from the U.S. Army, a Scott Joplin festival, and the new sound of bluegrass. Wear your silver buckles along with some merry pirates, catch a railroad show, and an all-Arkansas market. And Springfest celebrates the new season anyway we can.

U.S. Army Field Band And Soldiers’ Chorus – 3 Locations

The 65-member Concert Band and 29-member Soldiers’ Chorus perform regularly in some of the most famous concert halls in the world, and just as often in the humblest auditoriums in the smallest of communities. The joining of these two ensembles allows them to offer unparalleled versatility of programming, ranging from orchestral masterworks and operatic aria to Sousa marches, jazz classics, and Broadway musicals.

Scott Joplin International Centennial Celebration – Texarkana

An Evening with Dailey & Vincent – Jonesboro

Springfest – Little Rock

Grab the kids and come out to play! Springfest is a special day packed with food, family, fun and sun on the banks of the Arkansas River. You’ll find everything from acrobats and art projects to food trucks and flying dogs. Activities for the young (and young at heart!) include: Food Trucks, Arts & Crafts, Springfest Pooch Parade and Various Community Performances. Admission is free and open from 10-6.

Arkansas Made -Arkansas Proud – Little Rock

Arkansas Made-Arkansas Proud is a unique market showcasing products created or produced in the Natural State. War Memorial Stadium, one of Arkansas’ largest monuments was built in 1948 to honor our states’ veterans. The stadium, an iconic landmark, has hosted Razorback games, high school championships, numerous non-profit events and concerts by local and international stars and is pleased to be the home of Arkansas Made-Arkansas Proud.
