Garvan Woodland Gardens Tulip Extravaganza – Hot Springs
Celebrate the end of winter at the Gardens during Tulip Extravaganza! There are thousands of beautiful blooms – starting in February with crocus, daffodils and hyacinths; followed closely or perhaps concurrently depending on weather by over 150,000 brilliant Dutch tulips. In addition, spring annuals and azaleas bloom, making it the biggest display of color between Dallas and Memphis all season. The Dukes of Dixieland – Jonesboro
Back in 1974, producer John Shoup re-formed the Dukes of Dixieland, and opened their jazz club atop the Monteleone Hotel in the French Quarter, calling it “Dukes’ Place” with the blessing of its previous owner, Louis Prima. Playing four sets a night, often stretching till dawn, The Dukes started accepting 30 dates a year with orchestras, festivals and Performing Arts Centers in the USA and overseas, never straying long, before returning home first to Dukes’ Place until 1986; then a new home on Bourbon Street called Mahogany Hall, and in 1992, they moved home base to the Steamboat Natchez, where they have remained ever since. You don’t have to go to New Orleans to hear this exclusive jazz band sound. Join us at the Fowler Center for a trip back in time to the sound of the New Orleans jazz legends. First Ever 13th Annual World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade – Hot Springs
Gary Busey, the definition of ZANY will join us as the Official Starter of the parade! Kevin Bacon and his brother Michael — The Bacon Brothers — will be the celebrity grand marshals of the First Ever 13th Annual World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade in historic downtown Hot Springs. Fans will also get to enjoy a free concert by the Bacon Brothers Band immediately after the world-famous 98-foot parade. Come get your green on during this 98-foot parade on world-famous Bridge Street, shortest street in the world in everyday use, according to Ripley’s Believe It or Not.

French Colonial Days
In 1783, a French trader named Fabre settled on a bluff above the Ouachita River and called the settlement “Ecore Fabre,” which is the present city of Camden, Arkansas. In honor of Fabre, White Oak Lake State Park is hosting this annual Colonial event! Meet re-enactors demonstrating the presence of the French and other European Colonials in this part of Arkansas during the 1780s. Re-enactors will be camped out throughout the weekend. 48th Annual Jonquil Festival – Washington
Create memories and celebrate a tradition at Historic Washington State Park. This three-day festival heralds the arrival of spring in Southwest Arkansas!
