29th Annual Christmas and Candlelight ~ Washington
The traditional holiday glow of pioneer-era luminaries will grace the streets of Arkansas’ only working 19th-century village state park for the 29th year starting this Saturday. Walk or enjoy a ride on a horse-drawn surrey through the candlelit streets, enjoy Christmas music, and view the historic homes adorned with historic period decorations of pine cones, grapevines, magnolia and evergreens. Daylight tours are from 1-5 p.m. Candlelight tours begin at 5 p.m. when thousands of luminaries will be lit, and will continue until 8 p.m. The park restaurant, Williams’ Tavern, will be offering a Christmas buffet from 11 a.m.-8 p.m.

At 11 a.m. riders will be led by Santa to the Frank Wentzel Community Center for toy distribution, lunch and a commemorative ride pin. 24th Annual Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis ~ Little Rock
A fun and festive way to kick off the holidays by helping support the Arthritis Foundation! Hundreds of runners and walkers hit the pavement of downtown Little Rock to fight arthritis – the nation’s most common cause of disability. Participants may wear a holiday themed costume and tie jingle bells to their shoelaces. Canines are always welcome – they get arthritis, too!
