Feltner Brothers to be featured on The Food Network

Some Arkansas restauranteurs are about to make their national television debut this month.

Brothers Travis, Chase, and Grant Feltner, who own the local Feltner Brothers restaurant on College Avenue in Fayetteville, are set to appear on The Kitchen, a popular talk show that airs weekly on The Food Network.

The Feltners will be featured on the show on Saturday, Jan. 28 to give some advice on “the ultimate burger bar” the weekend before the Super Bowl. The episode of the show is titled “Big Game Day,” and will also feature game day dishes by the resident celebrity chefs.

The brothers, of course, would be uniquely qualified to talk about burgers. Their late grandfather opened the legendary Feltner’s Whataburger in Russellville, and they’ve been operating their own restaurant in Fayetteville specializing in nothing but burgers, fries, and hot dogs since 2009.

For those who aren’t familiar with the show, The Kitchen is a weekly talk show that airs on Saturday mornings on the network, hosted by celebrity chefs Sunny Anderson, Katie Lee, Jeff Mauro, Marcela Valladolid and Geoffrey Zakarian.

Travis Feltner, who is a fan of the show, said being on that sound stage was a great experience.

“Sitting on set with the celebrity chefs was surprisingly very comfortable,” he said. “They were all super down to earth and made us feel at home. Of course, we have no problem talking to people. Sometimes we talk too much. I guess you could say we fit in right away.”

The Feltners were flown to New York on Dec. 7 last month, where they spent a whirlwind 24 hours in town before heading back home to run their restaurant. The show is filmed just outside the city in Montclair, New Jersey.

“It was a very quick trip,” Travis said. “We touched down at LaGuardia at 1:30 p.m. local time on the 7th, and we were back at XNA by 5:30 p.m. on the 8th. We spent more time in the air and in cabs and Ubers than anywhere else.”

The Feltners did get to do a bit of sightseeing, however.

“We did get a chance to visit Times Square and the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center,” he said. “What an amazing place at Christmas time!”

Travis said he felt like the taping of the show went really well.
