What is this magic you ask? The LR Indoor Food Truck Court is Little Rock’s very first food truck one-stop shop that features an indoor dining room, restrooms, flat-screen TV’s, Wi-Fi, parking and of course…food trucks!
The LR IndoorFood Truck Stop is located at 801 South Chester street in downtown Little Rock and in addition to being home to rotating food trucks all throughout the week, it is also home to Brown Sugar Bakery Express! The food court is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The food trucks will be on a rotating basis so you never know what goodness may be there when you get there. If you are OCD like me and need to know what food will be there before you go, you can always check the Facebook page to see what the line up will be that day!
I had the opportunity to check out the food court on the day of the grand opening and it was a blast! You could smell the food from inside your car as you arrived and there was some serious music going down. I can vouch for parking not being a problem and even though it was 30-something degrees outside, there was still a good turnout!
My first stop was to check out all of the food trucks! There was a variety that day including Loblolly Creamery, Hot Rod Wieners, Rick’s Beignets, Stevie’s Fish and Chicken, Southern Salt, Luncheria Mexicana Alicia 2, Red River, and a couple of others.
After surveying all of the goods, I went with the El Ranchero dog from Hot Rod Wieners and it was delicious! The El Ranchero is a gourmet hot dog on a bun with chili, cheese and Fritos! YUM! I took my food indoors because it was freezing outside and because all of the tables were inside!
I loved the setup indoors…it was warm, had restrooms, plenty of tables and free Wi-Fi! I loved the family style seating because even though I was there by myself I didn’t feel intrusive when I sat a table with people I didn’t know. We all had a great meal and enjoyed great conversation. I also love the garage doors, which will be perfect for when it’s a thousand degrees outside in the Arkansas summer!
When I got finished eating and was getting ready to leave the indoor area, I just had to stop by Brown Sugar Bakery Express on my way out. If you know me at all, then you know I am a cupcake fiend and Brown Sugar has some of the best cupcakes around. Brown Sugar Bakery has been around Central Arkansas for the past seven years and has been in a couple of different locations but is now located full time at the Indoor Food Truck Court. They are open from 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. (or until they are sold out of everything) and I can’t see them staying open until 5:30pm ever! Their cupcakes are seriously that good.
I couldn’t choose just one flavor to take home with me so I may or may not have gotten this fabulous four pack…
If you love food trucks and are in the central Arkansas area, then I highly suggest checking out the LR Food Truck Stop. You won’t leave disappointed!
