There’s a lot to celebrate in South Arkansas!

Natural wonder abounds in South Arkansas. Pristine lakes, rolling mountain ranges and friendly people make it an inviting place to visit and to call home.

What to do

The Natural State lives up to its title in South Arkansas. There are plenty of hidden treasures to discover, whether you’re digging for quartz crystal at Mount Ida or diamonds at Crater of Diamonds State Park in Murfreesboro. (Yes, you get to keep your finds!) Hot Springs has something to do for everyone, from bathhouse spas tapping into natural hot springs to horse races at Oaklawn to high-speed thrills at Magic Springs Water and Theme Park. Once an oil “boom-town” in the 1920s, El Dorado is now the home of the Murphy Arts District, where you can catch a concert on any weekend. If you’re looking to spend an afternoon, on the water, you can float the Caddo River or swim in Lake Hamilton.
