In honor of Veteran’s Day, First Security Bank is hosting a series on our very own veteran employees. We appreciate Stephanie Weithman for her service and sacrifice for our country. And for exhibiting Bank Better service for our customers every day!
Customer Service Representative, Beebe, AR
Dates of Military Service: May 1989 – May 2000
Army Staff Sergeant, Communications Section NCO
During Stephanie Weithman’s eleven years in the Army, she worked as a signal operator and later as a military police officer. She was stationed and/or trained in Colorado, Georgia, Illinois and New Jersey. She served in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
Stephanie said the best things about serving in the Army were travel, her fellow recruits and training. “I enjoyed the camaraderie of the different units I served with,” she said. “I really liked to learn and use the different equipment; from different types of weapons to driving everything from an old JEEP to an APC (armored personnel carrier) to HMMWV, aka Humvee!”
Stephanie has two children, Mitch and Morgan, and boyfriend David. They are active in school, sports and their cattle ranch. Her son Mitch is currently serving in the Army and is stationed in Ft. Sam Houston, Texas. Her daughter Morgan is a sophomore at Beebe High School. Stephanie enjoys horseback riding, gardening, photography, hiking, camping and bike riding. She recently completed the Big Dam Bridge 100.
