Searcy Get Down Downtown 2024

I

It’s festival season here in Arkansas, which means Get Down Downtown 2024 is just around the corner in Searcy! From Friday, September 27 to Saturday, September 28, there will be live music, games, vendors, rides and more in the beautiful Downtown Searcy.

You won’t want to miss the headliner, Rodney Atkins, at 8 p.m., Saturday, September 28, on the First Security Bank Stage. With over 14 million records sold, over 1.5 billion on-demand streams and multiple #1’s. Atkins has become the backbone of country music. Atkins expresses a refreshing simplicity and sincerity that reflects the values he holds so dear: putting family first, making the most of what you have, and staying true to yourself in a rapidly changing world.

In the opening act, another Nashville artist, Tristan McIntosh, takes the stage at 6:30 p.m. She has been a trained musician since the age of 4 and has cultivated her many musical influences into a unique array of modern, accessible country music. Still in her early 20s, she has already been a finalist on American Idol, shared the stage with Darius Rucker and Mickey Guyton (among others), entertained the Bluebird Café and even played the Bonnaroo Festival in her native Tennessee.

Erik Smallwood is making a return to the First Security Bank stage at 8 p.m. on Friday, September 27th. Except this time, he is bringing his old band back together! You won’t want to skip out on this reunion. Smallwood is a Muscle Shoals, Alabama-born worship leader/singer-songwriter with a 20+ year career on his resume. He has shared the stage with national acts around the U.S., received award nominations, made film contributions and earned the respect of his peers. Smallwood has developed a strong following of fans due to his unique performance style. Blessed with an ear for catchy melodies and a quick wit on stage, Smallwood has found success in numerous venues, including non-profits, churches, restaurants, cafes and pubs, as well as opening for national acts such as Joe Diffie, Jason Isbell, Shooter Jennings, David Lee Murphy, Jason Michael Carroll, David Alan Coe, Josh Thompson, Third Day, Lenny LeBlanc, The Embers, Kevin Max (dcTalk), Gary Nichols (The SteelDrivers) and Red Marlow (Season 13, The Voice).

Kids Zone

Unity Health Kids Zone will be open on Saturday, September 28, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Performances are scheduled in and around Spring Park Pavilion. Throughout Spring Park, kids can enjoy face painting, lawn games, pony rides, a petting zoo and more! Carnival games cost 25 cents each, and pony rides are $5.

Henard Entertainment Zone

New this year, the Henard Entertainment Zone will be at the Spring Street parking lot across from First Baptist Church. Throughout the event you can find Entergy Arcs & Sparks, Arkansas Circus Arts, Fire Breathing, Balloon Art and the 4 Mile Hill Taekwondo.

Funnel Cake 5k

You had me at Funnel Cake! The annual Funnel Cake 5k is on Saturday, September 28th, starting at 8 a.m. Everyone who finishes the 5k will receive a voucher for a FREE funnel cake during the Get Down Downtown festival. Pre-registration is $35 until midnight on September 27; the price will increase to $40 on race day. If the 5k is too much and you want a fun run, The Cotton Candy Classic is for you!
