There’s something sentimental about a corner store market and deli in a charming downtown neighborhood. The best part about Maple Market in downtown Springdale is that it isn’t just for the folks who live downtown; it’s for all of us!
In the summer of 2021, Brian Jaure opened Maple Market on the corner of Emma and Holcomb Street. It wasn’t the first time this corner location hosted a neighborhood market. Somewhere around the year 1939, the space was called the Corner Grocery.
And now, eighty-ish years later, the market on the corner is back. Along with its new name, Maple Market
Maple Market is an independent grocery store located in historic downtown Springdale. Not affiliated with any of the big chains, Maple Market is able to keep a pulse on its customers’ needs, wants and desires.
Step inside, and you will immediately feel like this market was curated especially for… you. Whether you are vegan, vegetarian, carnivore or anything in between, the shelves are stocked with all sorts of treasures.
Scattered throughout are Arkansas-made and grown products.
I love the treasure hunt at Maple Market. While there is a focus on local products, there are also unique and hard-to-find ingredients, spices, condiments and everyday pantry items from all over the states and the world!
This isn’t any ordinary bodega-style market. It’s a specialty grocery store in the heart of downtown.
While I am a sucker for unique pantry items, a deli counter will get me any time.
That’s right. Maple Market isn’t just a market; it is a deli that serves sandwiches and salads. Open every day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., it can satisfy your appetite day and night.
Sandwich-to-go options also include gluten-free bread, wraps, subs, paninis and wheat. There is something for everyone!
I’m a sucker for grilled cheese sandwiches, especially since Maple Market’s grilled cheese is a mixture of pimento cheese, mozzarella, spinach, tomato and mayo.
Salads include locally grown lettuce and housemade dressing.
The next time you head out for shopping day, stop in and check out Maple Market on Emma. You’ll find fresh local vegetables and frozen foods such as meats and freezer meals.
Oh, and wine and beer, too. The square footage may be small, but the offerings are immense.
