Celebrating 30 Years of the Frisco Festival in Rogers

Upon arrival, we quickly found a parking spot and headed toward all the excitement. The Kids’ Zone was hoppin’ with all kinds of inflatables, a bungee trampoline, remote-controlled cars, climbing wall, pony rides and more. Running into our neighbor at the climbing wall, our boys quickly decided they wanted to have a little climbing adventure of their own.

We ambled up through booths and booths that included a ton of different types of festival foods and drinks, specialty products, special and local interest groups, politicians and more.

Food galore at Frisco Festival, 30 Year of Frisco Festival

We enjoyed delicious kettle corn and pork rinds from Mountain Home Kettle Corn, yum! And, of course, we couldn’t resist real root beer from Billy Jack’s Root Beer.

We’re pretty picky when it comes to root beer, so we couldn’t resist buying a couple bottles when we tried the samples and they were absolutely delicious. Real ingredients make all the difference in the world.

Carnival, anyone? Carnival rides lined the streets up and down several blocks, from the giant Ferris wheel to kiddie rides, the Sizzler and more.

We budgeted just enough for the boys to grab a ride or two, as most rides took 3-6 tickets (most of the rides they were interested in took 4-6). With hilarious memories of our last ride on the Sizzler, Jacob couldn’t resist another ride, this time without Mama.

Let me tell you, the older I get, the more I realize that my body does not like carnival rides the way it used to. But fun, you bet…. I hold fond memories of laughing my head off on carnival rides, even now with my boys, just depends on the day. Ha!

Live Music at Frisco Festival, 30 Year of Frisco Festival

Entertainment included live music both on and off stage.  Of course, other events also took place, including the Rogers Rotary Catfish Fry, a chili-salsa-jalapeño competition, a car show, 5K run, a Poker Ride, the Frisco Idol Contest, and rides on the A&M Railroad between Rogers and Springdale.

Before leaving the Festival Friday evening, Jaden just couldn’t leave without a jump on the bungee trampoline.

He was on cloud nine when he came down from that trampoline. And I have to say, we all had a great time and came home with some pretty tasty souvenirs and more memories to stash away in our family archive.

Rogers really does rock…. If you’ve never attended the Frisco Festival, make plans to attend next year. Fun times and sweet memories are waiting to be made.
