Pops on the River is the largest Fourth of July event in the state. This 4th of July celebration is packed with fun activities and entertainment, including multiple music performances, culminating in a concert by the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and a vibrant fireworks display. Activities include free children’s activities, a shopping marketplace, food trucks and lots of entertainment.

Freedom Fest on the Lake is one of the premier events to celebrate the 4th of July weekend in the state. There will be a 5k Saturday morning to kick off the weekend, starting at Sulpher Creek Trail. For the evening, head to Sandy Beach to view the breathtaking Fireworks show at 9:30 p.m. The weekend will be filled with live music, shopping around the downtown square, visiting antique shops and specialty stores, and spending time at the lake.

The Johnson County Peach Festival is the oldest festival in the state. This festival has peaches, homemade crafts, a terrapin race, a bicycle obstacle course, a peach pit spitting contest, a peach eating contest, a fishing derby, greased pig chase, frog jump, a parade, a horseshoe pitching tournament and more. The Rock City Margarita Festival and the Great Arkansas Beer Festival is coming back to Little Rock this summer. Tickets are required for this event and with your ticket, you will receive a souvenir tasting glass and the chance to sample the finest margaritas from over 35 local bars and restaurants, plus beers from over 100 top-notch breweries from Arkansas and across the country! But it is not just about the drinks; there will be games, a live DJ, food vendors, giveaways and endless good times!

Since 1980, people have gathered to celebrate the “World’s Sweetest Watermelons” and reconnect with family and friends in Cave City. Now in its 45th year, the watermelon festival is the largest festival in the region and has been voted as one of Arkansas’ best festivals. Be sure to check it out!

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission does an excellent job of serving the people of Arkansas. They offer classes and events that are beneficial for all ages and meet many different interests. There are nine different nature centers in Arkansas that offer varied classes for varied skill levels all summer. If you click this link, you can search the events by date and by ZIP code. Arkansas is fortunate to be home to two minor league baseball clubs. The Arkansas Travelers, affiliated with the Seattle Mariners, in North Little Rock, Arkansas. The Northwest Arkansas Naturals are based out of Springdale and are an affiliate of the Kansas City Royals. Attending the games of these ball clubs is always fun because they have activities for the crowds, themed nights and of course, ballpark food. Take time this month to head to a game with friends or family. The Arkansas Travelers will be having fireworks July 4-6. and the Arkansas Naturals will have fireworks July 4-6 as well. This would make a perfect outing for the family!
