Folks have been long awaiting the annual arrival of the Cave City Watermelons. The wait is over, my friends, so grab your family and head to the Cave City Watermelon Festival and have a watermelon weekend. If you can’t make it to Cave City there are plenty of other fun activities this weekend: magic shows, bike festivals, shopping, musicals, and more!
This weekend is the 40th celebration of the World’s Sweetest Watermelons! After its debut in 1980, the Watermelon Festival has evolved into an annual summer celebration, bringing Grammy-winning artists, emerging talent and local favorites along with thousands of people from Cave City, the surrounding area and around the United States together each year for free entertainment and an unforgettable homecoming experience like no other. During the festival, the spotlight will shine on award-winning artists, great food, family-friendly activities, and of course, a free feast of the World’s Sweetest Watermelons on Saturday afternoon. This year’s headlining artists feature the Down East Boys, Shenandoah and Mark Chestnut. Parking and entertainment are free.
