January is a great month to reset and recharge and enjoy events without the extra holiday hustle and bustle. January 2022 in Arkansas is full of shopping, arts and entertainment events. Grab some friends and family and pick an event (or two or three) to attend.
Arkansas Big Buck Classic (Little Rock)
Arkansas Big Buck Classic is a three-day festival dedicated to those that love the outdoors, especially deer hunting! There are merchandise vendors on site all three days selling outdoor and hunting products, outfitters, boats, tree stands, hunting blinds, All-terrain vehicles and much more! There are attractions including rattlesnake wranglers, chainsaw carving, knife forgers, a kids building with free trout fishing pond, bow shoot, pellet shoot & more! The highlight of the festival is the exhibition of deer antlers from around Arkansas! There are great prizes for largest deer from each county, largest with bow, crossbow, gun, muzzleloader, youth and ladies! Over $100,000 in prizes! And there are door prizes even if you didn’t get a deer this season!

Bridal and Wedding Shows
Statistics show that December is the most common month for proposals in the United States making January wedding shows perfect for the brides-to-be so they can get to work planning their special day. There will be three wedding shows in Arkansas this month that will feature vendors that can help brides, grooms, & event planners personalize their upcoming special event! Vendors not only display their product, but also book weddings on the spot, making it the perfect way to plan a wedding in one day, in one location. Seminars, prize giveaways and games all lead up to the show’s conclusion – the runway fashion show and the ultimate prize giveaway.

Inside the Conway Expo Center there will be over 200 booths brimming with antiques and vintage finds brought by exhibitors from at least 10 states. It would make for a perfect outing in January to see what treasures you could find.

Ozark Mountain Music Festival
Since 2014, The Ozark Mountain Music Festival is an Ozark Mountain fusion of Bluegrass, Folk, Urban and American Roots Music held annually at the Basin Park Hotel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas over four days. With bands often celebrated at super major festivals as Wakarusa or Harvest Fest, the Basin Park Hotel has invited festival goers to come “camp inside” on a chilly January weekend with some hot music and great memories.

The Be Funny Tour- Nate Barbatze (Jonesboro)
“The Nicest Man in Stand-Up” hopes that by being funny, Northeast Arkansans will be happy! Comedian Nate Bargatze’s “Be Funny Tour” will make a stop in Jonesboro on Jan. 13. Nate Bargatze is known for his “clean and relatable” comedy.

Murphy Arts District (El Dorado)
El Dorado Festival & Events has been working for the past four years to create an Arts & Entertainment District in downtown El Dorado- the Murphy Arts District. Northwest Arkansas Comic (Rogers)
Northwest Arkansas Comic Con is a two-day event being held in January. The NWA Comic Con will feature guests from movies, television, anime, comic books, and cosplay. There will be other events such as costume contests, Q&A with guests, fan panels, workshops, video game tournaments, tabletop game tournaments and more. A key speaker will be Charles Martinet who is known for voicing Mario at video game trade shows in which attendees would walk up to a TV screen displaying a 3-D Mario head that moved around the screen and talked. Martinet’s official debut as Mario was in the 1992 Super Mario Bros. pinball machine, despite being uncredited for the role. However, most were first exposed to Mario’s voice in the landmark 1996 game Super Mario 64.
