I grew up in Parkdale, AR, 10miles north of the LA state line. This isn’t a funny name, but it is an origin of the name! The town was originally called Popular Bluff. Popular Bluff, AR, and Popular Bluff, MO, were on the same rail line, so packages kept getting mixed up. The result was to change the name of Popular Bluff, AR, to Parkdale, AR. I enjoy reading “Only in Arkansas.” The articles and pictures are great fun. They have also initiated some interesting adventures into places and eateries. Thanks!
