Welcome to calm.
Thao Nguyen opened Calmo Coffee in Rogers in late August 2024. She wanted her coffee place to be an experience where you could have a special moment of tranquility for those days when you just needed a little quiet time. Calmo is that place. After all, it was named after the Italian word for calm.
Setting the mood.
The lighting is moody, and the seating options are many – whether you meet up with a friend or want a comfy chair to enjoy a drink, dessert, or book.
Or all three!
Thao’s eye for beauty is evident in the décor and her beautiful flower and greenery designs. All the special attention to detail adds to the overall experience. Swoon-worthy!
Let’s drink!
From Italian classically-inspired espressos and “capuchinos” to specialty coffee and lattes, you will swoon over the delicious offerings. Choose from a Tahini Brew, Almond Brew, or Almond Pistachios Delight (to name a few).
If you are into matcha or have always wanted to try one, I recommend the Velvet Matcha Canopy iced specialty drink. It’s made with premium matcha, oat milk, and brown sugar. It’s not only gorgeous, but it is also perfectly balanced and beautiful!
Their coffee beans collaborate with Onyx Coffee Lab, so you can’t go wrong with a simple black coffee or Coconut Milk Americano.
Treat yourself to a Croffle.
A croffle is a beautifully balanced blend of croissants and waffles. They have seasonal croffles so be sure to pay attention Instagram, where they post specials.
Croffle offerings include Bananutella, Strawberry Whip, Oreo, and Caramel. I recommend the Nutella Almond, a croffle topped with whipping cream, slivered almonds, Nutella, and powdered sugar.
They also have pastry cases for all cakes and goodies, including tiramisu!
“Letter for your future self.”
Before I go, I want to share the “Letter for your future self” experience at Calmo Coffee. When you walk up to the counter at Calmo Coffee, look down. All along the bottom half of the counter are 365 slots, one for each day of the year.
Guests can purchase a craft card and envelope and write a letter to themselves. In other words, you can write a letter to your future self, choose any date within the next year when you want to receive the letter you write yourself, and Calmo Coffee will mail it to you! Think about goals you want to tell yourself about, a special anniversary date, a graduation kudos, or whatever you want! Once written, Calmo will provide a premium wax seal, and in the slot, it goes. Great idea, right?
