Mix up a batch to add as backpack snacks, lunchbox treats and after-school bites. This recipe makes a huge batch that can last a couple of weeks, provided you can resist grabbing a handful every time you walk by. We wish you good luck with that! This Puppy Chow Recipe is an oldie but a goodie that has stood the test of time and is a perfect addition to the cookbook. It’s extremely easy and comes together in no time. Seriously, the hardest part is not eating it at each stage of mixing.

Empty cereal into a large bowl. In a saucepan, melt chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter. Stir frequently and remove from heat, then stir in vanilla extract. Pour the mixture over the cereal and stir until evenly distributed. Put the coated cereal into a gallon bag with a seal. Add powdered sugar to the bag. Seal the bag and shake until the sugar is fully coated. Empty contents onto wax paper to cool.
