Honey Ham Tortilla Rolls with Honey Dip

G

Get on a roll this summer with these pinwheel-style Honey Ham Tortilla Rolls with Honey Dip. This is a simple recipe ready in just 10 minutes and perfect for any summertime activities. This recipe from the “What’s Cookin’ at First Security Vol. 2” cookbook called for ham spread, but Arkansans (including everyone at my house) love their Petit Jean Meats ham (and bacon, but that is for another recipe or two or 50), so that is what is used here.

Make your own variations with easy add-ins like cheese and ranch. For this variation, skip the honey and add a packet of ranch seasoning to the filling. Swap the honey mustard dip for ranch dressing or dip. Low-carb tortillas would be a Keto-friendly option. Skip the ham altogether and go for a vegetarian option.

Easy Peasy Pleasy Tips

  • I used Petit Jean Ham in place of ham spread. I grabbed some sliced deli ham and chopped it up small.
  • I also doubled all the ham, cream cheese, honey, crushed pineapple and green onions to make the filling more substantial.
  • Chill for at least 2 hours or overnight before cutting.
  • Use a bread knife to make cutting pinwheels easier.
  • This recipe calls for a ¼ cup of mustard. I used slightly less and added paprika to give the dip a little pepper kick.
  • Store-bought honey mustard can be used in place of making the dip.

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces honey ham spread
  • 3 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • ¼ cup crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 tablespoon green onions, chopped
  • 4 (8-inch) flour tortillas
  • 6 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup mustard
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Directions

Beat ham spread and cream cheese together in a mixing bowl until smooth. Stir in honey, pineapple, and green onions. Spread ¼ cup mixture on each flour tortilla. Roll into a log. Wrap each roll in plastic wrap and chill for 2-8 hours. After chilling, slice each tortilla into ½ inch slices. For honey dip, mix mayonnaise, mustard, and honey in a small bowl. Dip is ready to serve with sliced rolls.
