Football Summer Camps in Arkansas

W

We always think summer will be slow, don’t we? As parents, we imagine lazy mornings, wide-open calendars and plenty of downtime—but somehow, summer fills up fast. My son is heading into third grade, and he’s already gearing up for his second season of flag football this fall. After attending Harding’s winter camp, he’s been counting down the days to their summer football camp. These camps aren’t just a fun way to burn energy—they’re packed with value.

From learning fundamental skills and proper form to building confidence and good sportsmanship, summer football camps across Arkansas offer something for every age and ability level. For the younger crowd, it’s a chance to meet their favorite players, high-five the coaching staff, and fall in love with the game. For high school athletes, these camps are a serious opportunity to level up their skills and maybe even catch the eye of a college program. Whether your kid is lacing up cleats for the first time or dreaming of Friday night lights, there’s a camp in Arkansas ready to help them grow.

University of Arkansas – Fayetteville

When it comes to football in Arkansas, the Razorbacks are the big dogs (or should I say big hogs). Led by Head Coach Sam Pittman, the Hogs compete in the powerhouse SEC and bring a rich legacy to the table, including a national title from 1964, plus 13 conference and four division championships. Plus, they have a reputation for sending players to the NFL. Their camps draw serious talent from across the region, and Fayetteville’s top-notch facilities make it an unforgettable experience for young athletes who want a taste of big-time college football.

Arkansas State University – Jonesboro

As a proud Red Wolf alum, I have to say that A-State holds its own in a big way. Head Coach Butch Jones brings a fiery energy and a résumé that includes coaching in the SEC. The Red Wolves have racked up a dozen conference titles and even claimed a national title back in 1970. Their summer football camps are packed with energy and hands-on coaching—perfect for kids and high school players looking to level up. And trust me, there’s nothing quite like game day in Jonesboro.

University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff

UAPB has a deep-rooted football tradition and plays with pride in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. The Golden Lions, who won the SWAC Championship in 2012, are known for their speed, toughness and community spirit. Head Coach Alonzo Hampton brings both energy and discipline to the program, and their summer camps reflect that same vibe.

University of Central Arkansas – Conway

UCA may be known for their striking purple-and-gray turf, but their football tradition runs deep. With Head Coach Nathan Brown at the helm—a former UCA quarterback himself—there’s a lot of heart behind this program. The Bears have three NAIA national titles under their belt and continue to be a force in the ASUN Conference. Their camps offer a great opportunity for young players to train hard and dream big, all while soaking up that central Arkansas hospitality.

Harding University – Searcy

This one’s extra close to my heart. As a Harding University grad, I was over the moon when the Bisons brought home the NCAA Division II National Championship in 2023. Head Coach Paul Simmons has built something really special in Searcy—something rooted in faith, grit and excellence. The camps at Harding aren’t just about learning plays—they’re about character, discipline and teamwork. And you can’t beat the setting: a beautiful campus, great people and a winning tradition.

Ouachita Baptist University – Arkadelphia

Tucked in the heart of Arkadelphia, Ouachita Baptist is building champions on and off the field. Head Coach Todd Knight has led the Tigers to multiple conference titles and continues to shape young men into strong athletes and even stronger leaders. It’s the kind of place where kids leave not just better players, but better people.

Whether your child is just starting or aiming for the next level, Arkansas’s summer football camps offer invaluable experiences that build character and foster teamwork. With so many camps to choose from, get ready for a summer of growth, both on and off the field.
