June arrives in Arkansas with the unmistakable energy of summer. Small towns burst to life, music drifts through the warm evening air and quirky traditions take center stage. Where else can you cheer on bathtub races one weekend and celebrate the mighty pink tomato the next? From the legendary Bradley County Pink Tomato Festival to the unforgettable World Championship Running of the Tubs, Arkansas proves that its festivals are every bit as colorful as its people.
June is packed with can’t-miss events, from live music and classic car shows to hometown baseball games and rich celebrations of local culture and history. Whether you’re planning a quick day trip or a full weekend adventure, there’s no better time to get out and experience the fun, flavor and charm of Arkansas in summertime.

The World Championship Running of the Tubs in Hot Springs is sure to provide entertainment as you watch costumed teams push customized bathtubs on wheels down Historic Bathhouse Row in hopes of winning a prize. This event is FREE, family-friendly and the cleanest fun in town! The bathtub must be full of water at the start of the race and have at least 10 gallons of water left in the tub at the finish line. If that isn’t hard enough, each bath attendant must carry one of 4 items (bar of soap, bathmat, loofah mitt and bath towel) throughout the entire race and present all items at the end of the race. Make plans to attend this zany event!

Farmers in Bradley County have been raising tomatoes for sale since the 1920s. They chose a variety of tomato that would ship well if picked when the tops of the fruit just barely turned pink. In 1956, a group of Warren merchants decided to host an event to celebrate the tomato industry and to help promote business in the area. From this, the Bradley County Pink Tomato Festival was born! The Pink Tomato Festival attracts 35,000 people each year from all over the country and has received recognition from state, national, and international levels. Fun facts: Every Arkansas governor serving since 1956 has attended the festival. The Bradley County Pink Tomato was designated the state’s official fruit and vegetable by the Arkansas Legislature in 1987.
