Lemonade House Grille in Downtown Jonesboro

O

One of my favorite parts of traveling around Arkansas is asking locals where they eat.

Not where they celebrate birthdays. Not where they take out-of-town guests. But where they go on a random Tuesday night because they know the food will be good and the atmosphere will be fun.

Before our family headed to Jonesboro for a few days of exploring Northeast Arkansas, a friend mentioned a few places she remembered from her college days and casually added, “Y’all would probably love Lemonade House Grille.”

So, I added it to our itinerary and moved on.

But the moment we parked and started walking toward the restaurant, I knew exactly why she suggested it.

Located in the heart of Downtown Jonesboro along Main Street, Lemonade House Grille checks almost every box we look for when traveling.

It’s walkable. It’s welcoming. It’s family-friendly. It’s date-night friendly. It’s girls-night-out friendly. It has a creative menu, fun drinks and enough personality to make the experience memorable before you’ve even ordered.

With all the festivals, concerts, downtown events, Arkansas State University weekends and community celebrations throughout the year, this is exactly the kind of place visitors should include in their Jonesboro plans.

The Vibe

Some restaurants serve food, and others create a space. Lemonade House Grille has clearly chosen the second option.

The first thing we noticed was the energy. Music drifted out onto Main Street, practically inviting us inside. The garage doors were rolled open to the perfect summer evening breeze, creating that indoor-outdoor feeling that instantly makes you want to stay awhile.

Then we stepped inside.

A young hostess greeted us from behind an old vintage car that had been converted into a welcome desk. (Yes, really.)

I was so busy looking around at the art, neon signs and eclectic decor that I almost missed what made the strongest first impression: you could hear the smile in her voice.

The restaurant is divided into several spaces, each with its own personality. There’s a main dining room, a bar area with communal seating, cozy corners perfect for appetizers and conversation, and a separate space that can easily host parties or larger gatherings.

Our table sat near the open garage doors, making it feel as if we were dining on Main Street while still enjoying the comfort of being indoors.

What I loved most was that everyone seemed equally at home. There wasn’t a “right” reason to be there. Everyone was welcome at a table.

The Lemonade

Let’s address the obvious question.

Yes, the lemonade really is the star of the show.

The restaurant offers more than 30 lemonade flavors, and ordering one almost feels like a rite of passage.

The flavors range from fruit-inspired combinations to candy-inspired creations that immediately caught my son’s eye.

Naturally, our table became a lemonade-tasting competition.

  • My son ordered the Skittles lemonade and instantly declared it the winner. Gummy Bear and Cotton Candy are also popular choices for younger guests, and I can completely understand why.
  • My husband chose Mango Tango and described it as a full-blown explosion of tart fruit flavor.
  • My mom went with dragon fruit and loved that it was fruity and refreshing without being overly sweet.
  • I ordered watermelon because summer and watermelon simply belong together.

That said, I may have stolen enough sips of Skittles lemonade that I already know what I’ll order next time.

One thing I appreciated was the variety of options. Several flavors can be made sugar-free, making it easier for everyone at the table to find something they’ll enjoy.

Honestly, the genius move would have been to order the lemonade flight so you wouldn’t have to decide!

In a world where mocktails and dirty soda bars continue to grow in popularity, building an entire restaurant experience around creative lemonades feels like a natural fit.

The Food

While the lemonade gets plenty of attention, the food deserves equal recognition.

As I looked around the restaurant, I noticed something unusual … no two tables seemed to be eating the same thing.

One group was sharing appetizers. Another had burgers piled high with toppings. A nearby table was enjoying wraps and salads. Across the room, a family had enough food spread across the table to feed a small army.

The menu is extensive in the best sense of the word.

There are burgers, wraps, grinders, tacos, loaded fries, hot dogs, flatbreads, mac-and-cheese bowls, salads and classic grill favorites.

Whether you’re looking for comfort food, something lighter or a little of both, there’s a good chance you’ll find it here whether you share or order your own pile.

One thing that immediately caught my attention was the burger section.

There are 16 burgers on the menu.

Sixteen.

Every imaginable combination seems to be represented. Some are classic, while others are delightfully over the top, including ghost pepper sauces, jam, and even peanut butter.

The menu also features the restaurant’s famous Trash Can Fries, a dish we heard mentioned more than once during our travels through Northeast Arkansas. I’m beginning to think they deserve their own regional food category.

What We Ordered

  • Brussels Sprouts

Let’s start with the surprise favorite. Multiple reviews pointed me toward the Brussels sprouts, and they absolutely lived up to the hype.

Perfectly roasted, drizzled with balsamic glaze, and sprinkled with feta, they were the kind of appetizer that makes you wonder why you don’t order Brussels sprouts more often.

I’ve learned that if roasted Brussels sprouts arrive at the table in a small iron skillet, I should probably order my own, since I have no intention of sharing.

  • Fiesta Chicken Wrap

After a burger-heavy lunch elsewhere, my mom wanted something lighter. The Fiesta Wrap delivered exactly that. Fresh ingredients, house-made pico and chipotle ranch combined to make a flavorful meal that never felt heavy.

  • Chicken Brochette

I ordered the grilled chicken skewer entrée, which arrived over a bed of the same incredible Brussels sprouts.

Was the chicken good? Absolutely.

Would I have ordered it just to guarantee another serving of Brussels sprouts? Also, yes.

  • Steakhouse Tortellini

Our server recommended this dish as one of the restaurant’s most popular items.

Tender steak, caramelized onions, cheese tortellini, and a rich garlic-cream sauce make this a great option when you’re craving something beyond traditional grilled fare.

  • Route 66 Burger with Bacon

With so many creative burger combinations available, we decided someone needed to test the classic one.

The verdict? Excellent choice.

Sometimes a well-executed burger is exactly what you want.

  • Kid-Friendly Options

Our son built his own meal from side items, including mac and cheese and fruit. The mac and cheese earned an enthusiastic review from the toughest critic at our table, a sure sign of approval.

  • Save Room for Dessert

We didn’t order dessert. And honestly, I’m still a little upset about it.

Not because the meal wasn’t filling, but because several orders of Funnel Cake Fries passed by our table and looked incredible.

The Campfire S’mores Skillet also caught our attention, and I suspect both desserts would be excellent for sharing at the table.

Apparently, we’ll just have to come back.

One More Reason to Visit Downtown Jonesboro

Downtown Jonesboro continues to grow, remaining one of Northeast Arkansas’s most vibrant gathering places.

Between festivals, concerts, community events, Arkansas State University activities, and a growing number of locally owned businesses, there’s always something happening in the district.

Lemonade House Grille fits naturally into that experience.

It’s the kind of place where you can grab dinner before an event, meet friends for trivia night, celebrate a milestone, enjoy a date night, or simply stop in after a day of exploring Northeast Arkansas.

Most importantly, it’s a place that truly makes people feel welcome.

Throughout our visit, the staff answered questions enthusiastically, offered recommendations, and made us feel less like customers and more like guests.

That kind of hospitality lingers with you.

At the end of the day, the lemonade is enjoyable. The food is excellent. The atmosphere is memorable.

But the real reason we’ll return is that it felt like a place we’d be welcomed to visit again and again.

And if we lived in Jonesboro, I have a feeling this wouldn’t be reserved for special occasions; it would absolutely become a Tuesday night kind of place when I wanted good food and didn’t want to cook dinner!
