Dogs, Dinosaurs and Drifters This Weekend

As always, it is a great weekend to be in Arkansas. There are several fun events happening this weekend to fit varied interests. There will be a dinosaur exhibit, dog show, live music, live wrestling, and a gymnastics meet. Enjoy the weekend!

Raft Creek Delta Waterfowl Banquet Crawfish Boil (Searcy)

The Raft Creek Delta Waterfowl banquet and crawfish boil is this weekend at the Merchant Building at the White County Fairgrounds. The doors will open at 5:30 and dinner will be served at 6:30. For those that don’t like crawfish, there will be burgers and hot dogs as well. You can buy tickets in advance, or there will be tickets available at the door.

South Arkansas Dog Show (Camden)

The public is encouraged to come out and see some of the most beautiful and smartest dogs in the country. There will be several fun events to watch. There will be vendors from around the country with lots of cool stuff. Bring your lawn chair and come hungry! The American Cancer Society will have great home cooked food.

The Platters, Original Cornell Gunter’s Coasters, and The Drifters (Forrest City)

Spend a nostalgic evening with three of the world’s most beloved musical groups, instrumental in creating the Rock & Roll Doo-Wop sound. The Platters are considered the most romantic of all the early rock ‘n’ roll groups. The Drifters are the first group to be inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and they are named by Rolling Stone as one of the “Top 500 Greatest Rock and Roll Performers.” Make plans to attend this great show!

Jurassic Quest (Little Rock)

Jurassic Quest is the largest and most realistic dinosaur event in North America. There will be huge Carnotaurus & T-Rex rides which are the largest ridable dinosaurs in North America! There will be activities, fossil digs, petting zoo, displays, and more!

Maker Made (Little Rock)

The Maker Made & ReMade Market will fill the former Gordmans building with 225+ booths. There will be artwork, handcrafted jewelry, pottery, paintings, upcycled/repurposed items, and much more!

Razorback Gymnastics vs. LSU Tigers (Fayetteville)

Get ready to show off your sparkles, capes and masks for Princess/Superhero night and help break an attendance record inside legendary Barnhill Arena. The first 500 kids will receive a free Razorback Gymnastics pillowcase plus red metallic shaker poms will be distributed throughout the seating areas for fans to show off their Razorback spirit. The first 300 University of Arkansas students will get a free T-shirt plus free Raising Cane’s upon entry. Following the meet, there will be a team autograph session.

Northwest Health Heart Fair (Bentonville)

All the activities are free at this health fair! There will be health screenings, including blood pressure, blood cholesterol (lipid profile), blood glucose, body mass index (BMI), and more. There will be risk assessments tests for anxiety, depression, diabetes, heart disease, sleep disorders, stroke and vascular disease. You can also qualify to win door prizes by attending seminars and screenings and visiting educational exhibits.

Fur Ball 2019 (El Dorado)
