Lighting Up Arkansas This Weekend

Towns across Arkansas are kicking off their holiday festivities with lighting ceremonies, parades and more. Many cities will start lighting up Arkansas this weekend, with the state in full swing over the next few weekends. Check out all the early lighting activities below, along with a few entertainment performances and shopping events.

Lights of the Ozarks (Fayetteville)

Enjoy the award-winning winter wonderland that kicks off with a parade this weekend in Fayetteville Historic Downtown Square. The nearly half-million twinkling lights will bring life to the square and illuminate the evening! You will be able to enjoy the food and nightly activities and get your picture with Santa.

Dazzle Daze (Conway)

This event is a three-day shopping extravaganza featuring specialty shopping in one location. Merchants from around the country will offer gourmet food, holiday items, jewelry, children’s items, women’s clothing and accessories, art, men’s items, home décor and much more.

Holiday Light Extravaganza (Smackover)

This weekend is the kickoff for the Holiday Light Extravaganza in Smackover! You can walk through the museum’s oil field park to enjoy over 600,000 twinkling lights while enjoying the sights and sounds of the holiday season with lighted scenes and familiar songs. You will be able to enjoy Santa’s rock band or catch a game of baseball with Santa and his elves. After enjoying the outdoor spectacular, head inside the museum for complimentary hot cocoa and the opportunity to purchase gifts in the museum’s gift shop.

Three Dog Night (Little Rock)

Three Dog Night will be performing in Little Rock this weekend, and there are still tickets available.

Bentonville Lighting of the Square (Bentonville)

When you see the Square lit up with lights, that’s when you know the holidays are here. This event is huge! The lighting of the Bentonville square is this weekend, and it brings people from all kinds of backgrounds together without trying to sell you anything. It’s one of the biggest ways that Bentonville strives to bring that small-town feel to a city that’s always growing. Don’t miss it!

Christmas At the Park (Jonesboro)

A new holiday tradition is coming to Northeast Arkansas — Christmas at the Park! This weekend is the kickoff and there will be an over half-mile drive-through of holiday lights and displays with over 350,000 lights, an A-State Howl & Scarlet Scavenger Hunt, and picture opportunities. There will also be an opportunity for guests to venture out of their car and visit the concession stand, take pictures with props, and even meet Santa

Holiday Lights at Garvan Woodland Gardens (Hot Springs)

The most celebrated outdoor light display in Arkansas for the holiday season opens at Garvan this Saturday.  The Gardens will be aglow with nearly five million lights in myriad natural settings. Features include the luminescent Garden of the Pine Wind, the 50-foot tall Holiday Tree which plays holiday tunes animated to a light show, the Parterre garden on the Great Lawn, and traditional holiday scenes in the woodlands. Conclude your walking tour with free hot chocolate. The Chipmunk Café is open nightly until 9 p.m. serving soups, sandwiches, and snacks.

Chonda Pierce Still Laughing (El Dorado)

Chonda Pierce is a stand-up comedian, television hostess, author and actress. Get your tickets to see the Queen of Clean comedy today!

Antique Festival of the Ozarks (Eureka Springs)

A Hometown Christmas (Huntsville)

The Huntsville Hometown Christmas will be this weekend on the Historic Huntsville Square with the Lighting Ceremony of the town square at 6 p.m. Downtown Merchants will be open late for evening shopping and Christmas Open Houses. There will be photos with Santa, children’s train, choirs singing, and refreshments available. Craft vendors and chili will be available at the Masonic Lodge.
