Opera In the Ozarks (Eureka Springs)

Opera in the Ozarks will be this weekend in Eureka Springs. Friday night, the feature opera performance will be Little Women, and on Saturday you can view Mozart’s The Abduction from the Seraglio. Mark Adamo’s Little Women is a moving and powerful telling of Louisa May Alcott’s story centering on the love of the four March sisters: Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy. Mozart’s The Abduction From The Seraglio is a comedy that strongly testifies to the power of love’s devotion. Mozart’s rollicking comedy revolves around two ladies who have been kidnapped and their boyfriends’ efforts to rescue them. Set in the Caribbean, the captors are pirates, but the music is consistent with the late 18th-century interest in the Middle East. This performance will be sung in German with English dialogue and with English subtitles projected above the stage.

Venue: Inspiration Point Fine Arts, Eureka Springs
Date: June 21-22

A little about .

There's a lot to celebrate in Arkansas. It's unique. Southern. Delightfully eccentric. Which is why we love every nook, cranny, cave and corner. In fact, some of our favorite things can't be found anywhere else. They're only in Arkansas. So we love them even more. The attractions we visit, the food we crave, the festivals we attend, the mountains we hike, the rivers we float, the stories we tell and the company we keep – it all adds up to one incredible state. And that familiar, meandering silhouette? Looks like home to us.
