Fayetteville Roots Festival Releases 2019 Lineup

F

Fayetteville Roots Festival organizers on Friday announced the lineup for their 2019 event via a video post on their Facebook page. This year’s festival is set for Aug. 22-25 at various venues around Fayetteville and will feature over 10 music stages, multiple culinary events, and more.

Headliners of the 2019 festival include St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Mavis Staples, Hiss Golden Messenger, and Rhiannon Gideens with Francesco Turrisi.

St. Paul & The Broken Bones and Staples have played the festival in past years. The lineup also includes plenty of other familiar faces, including festival veterans like John Fullbright, The Milk Carton Kids, Joe Purdy, Darrel Scott, Anthony Da Costa, and festival organizers and Fayetteville locals Smokey & The Mirror.

The event also includes local legends The Cate Brothers, who will likely perform with Amy Helm, daughter of frequent Cate Brothers collaborator and Arkansas native Levon Helm.

Newcomers to the festival include New Orleans sister act Rising Appalachia, Brittish country soul artist Yola, and Canadian folk singer Ana Egge.

Organizer Bryan Hembree said the initial lineup includes most of the mainstage acts for the upcoming festival, though additional artists for late night shows at George’s, and others will be announced in a second rollout in the coming weeks.

Hembree said the lineup of chefs and details on some of the culinary events scheduled for this year’s festival are also set to be announced soon.

Multi-day ticket packages to the upcoming festival have been on sale since November, and include VIP passes, along with 2-, 3-, and 4-day passes. Tickets to individual events and single-day passes may be made available at a later date.
