A Sweet Fruit Dip Treat for Hot Arkansas Days

S

Summertime has finally arrived in Arkansas, and this Sweet Fruit Dip is the perfect addition to snack on all summer.

I’ve seen social media post after post comparing Arkansas weather to the lines from Forrest Gump, and I would have to agree. “One day it started raining, and it didn’t quit for four months.” Forrest then describes the rain as “little bitty stingin’ rain… and big ol’ fat rain. Rain that flew in sideways. And sometimes rain even seemed to come straight up from underneath.”

Now that that kind of rain is over, we can enjoy the fact that school is out and summer temperatures are starting to arrive. It’s time to plan for pool days, camping trips, time on the lake, and summer sweet treats! You can enjoy this sweet fruit dip any day of the week or pack it up to enjoy on your favorite summer getaway. “Snackle” boxes are a big hit this summer and the perfect way to transport this easy recipe.

Easy Peasy Pleasy Timesaver Tips

  • Most fruits are easy to rinse quickly and are ready to eat. Once rinsed, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries can be stored in the refrigerator until ready to use.
  • Grapes need to be rinsed and pulled from the stems. Once rinsed, place on a paper towel and cover with another paper towel. Move around with your hands for quick and easy removal.
  • Take the win on a timesaver tip and purchase apples already sliced.
  • The dip can be made ahead and travels well.
