The Best Spinach Dip

S

Spinach dip is the perfect appetizer as it can be served warm or cold. When we are out at a restaurant, my friends and I will always order it because we know it will start our meal off right. You can’t go wrong bringing spinach dip to a party or serving to your family. It’s something that almost everyone loves.

I’ll be honest, though, I usually don’t make spinach dip from scratch, so when I came across this easy recipe in “What’s Cookin’ at First Security Vol. 2,” I knew it was time for me to impress my friends at our next gathering by making it from scratch. Impressing them would be easy because it has BACON in it! Recipes that include bacon are at the top of my list. I recommend Petit Jean Bacon, of course. I baked the bacon in the oven while I prepped the rest of the ingredients making clean up easy.

I set this Spinach Dip recipe up on a charcuterie board, adding my favorite crackers, chips and veggies for dipping. It was a big hit.

Easy Peasy Pleasy Tips

  • Use a clean kitchen towel to squeeze out excess water from the spinach. Lay a kitchen towel on the counter and place thawed spinach in the middle. Roll up spinach. Use your Popeye arm strength and squeeze out all the water.
  • Use your favorite baking dishes. I used two oven-safe soup bowls, and they were the perfect size. A 2-qt. or 8×8-in. oven-safe dish would be a good size as well.
