Pig Trail Mud Run

R

Runners must be 14 years or older to enter and should factor in the ultra-challenging obstacles they will have to navigate to complete this 5K run. The first flight will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, with runners starting at Marchant Arena, and finishing at the same location, where the “After Party” will also be held following the run.

This year’s race will focus on teamwork. While clocks will allow runners to time their individual race times, awards will be given for the largest team, the “best-dressed” team, and to the individual who exhibits the highest level of teamwork. Organizations may want to consider using the event as a team-building exercise.

Mud Run

Runners may register at the official website: pigtrailmudrun.com and packet pick-up will take place on Friday, May 30, at the Springdale Holiday Inn front desk from noon until 10:00 p.m. The fee for race participation is $60 until April 30, $80 May 1 until May 30, and $100 the day of the race. There is plenty of room for spectator viewing, and spectators can come out and encourage their favorite runners. While there is no fee for spectators, there is a $5 – $10 fee per car for parking on race day. There is a “bag check” location at the race where runners can leave a change of clothes – the race will be a muddy, challenging one, so a change of clothes is recommended. Special rates are available from the Springdale Holiday Inn for those needing local accommodations.

“This run is challenging – it’s a 5 k run with more than 15 obstacles – definitely not for the faint of heart,” states Sam Hollis, Race Chair, “but the rewards will be great when everyone makes it to the Recovery Party following the run. DJ Beat Bachs will be playing your favorites and there will be plenty of great food and drink. Participants who are of drinking age will even receive a free beer.”

Pig Trail Mud Run - Only In Arkansas

Sponsorships are available, with levels from $500 to $25,000. Because all proceeds from this event will benefit the Springdale Rotary Foundation, a non-profit organization, a portion of each sponsorship is considered a tax-deductible donation. Media sponsorships are also available for significant media event support. Media are invited to attend the event, and to participate in the Run. Proceeds from the event will fund local projects of the Springdale Rotary Club including building parks, college scholarships, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, Rotary 4-Way Test Speech Contest, dictionaries for third graders, presentation of CHOICES® to 8th graders and other projects to benefit the local community.
