On the homemade menu for May: Cheddar Garlic Biscuits. These biscuits are incredibly easy to make and with only five ingredients, ideal for anyone still looking for ways to use pantry items and staple ingredients. These cheesy pillows of goodness are the featured recipe this month from the “What’s Cookin’ at First Security” cookbook.
Tammy Whitfield works in the compliance department of First Security Bank in Benton, Arkansas. She submitted this biscuit recipe, and it’s a true representation of simple comfort food and good old home cooking.
Use these delectable biscuits as a side dish to accompany any meal, or enjoy them on your own with a slather of garlic butter straight from the oven. They also make a great food gift: bake a fresh batch and drop off to a neighbor or loved one. There is nothing more comforting than a homemade present that passes on tried-and-true recipes to lift the spirits of your fellow Arkansans.
It’s one of many thoughtful ways right now to stay connected.
Employees and customers submitted over 800 recipes for the second volume of “What’s Cookin’ at First Security Bank” cookbook. Proceeds from the sales will go to the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance to help feed people across the state. The cookbooks can be purchased for $20 at First Security Bank locations. Purchase and pickup are available through the drive-thru for your convenience.
