David’s Burgers Continues to Shine

To live in Arkansas is to know David’s Burgers. Even if you do not reside in the central region where David Alan Bubbus has built his burger empire, you’re more than likely familiar with the local chain known for its consistent, quality food, value, and trademark friendly service. To understand a little bit about what David’s Burgers embodies, look no further than its website.

We are the only hamburger restaurant with beef that is hand-cut from US Choice Chuck and ground for that day’s use. You can see our US Choice Chuck displayed proudly in a nostalgic butcher case at our entrance. We never include trimmings, fillers or other inferior beef by-products. The foundation of our traditional hamburger is simply incredible beef with the highest standard of quality control. Our fries are hand-cut potatoes made fresh throughout the day. There’s an amazing amount of passion and detail that goes into our food.

At David’s, the menu is simple and straightforward. Eight combo meals–all coming with a drink and fries–are front and center. Diners have their choice between a single or double beef burger, single or double chicken sandwich, hamburger steak, chicken steak, grilled cheese, or kid’s burger. Standard toppings (or David’s Way Toppings) on the burgers and chicken sandwiches include mayo, mustard, lettuce, sliced raw onions, tomatoes, and pickles. For an additional cost, you can also add cheese (American, cheddar, or pepper Jack), grilled onions, mushrooms, bacon, or jalapenos. Each main entrée is also offered a la carte. David’s even has a few salad options, although, truthfully, I question why someone would order one given the obvious reason:

David’s is about the burger!

Or the chicken sandwich. Yes, the beef burger gets all the attention, but the chicken sandwich, with its flavorful, coarsely ground meat, is a tasty and slightly healthier alternative. Truth be told, it is what I usually order.

As for the star of the show, the burger remains one of the better versions you will find in the area. For me, a David’s burger is about the sum of its parts. Every ingredient, from the crisp lettuce to juicy patty to soft bun, is harmonious together and at the peak of freshness.

If you are dining in, the experience also includes endless fries. There is nothing like the anticipation of waiting for a staff member to come by with their big bowl of piping hot fries to share with your tablemates as you wait for the rest of the food. And yes, there is a wait, something David’s Burgers takes pride in as everything is cooked to order. This is not fast food, so patrons should expect each order to take between 6-8 minutes to prepare. In the meantime, work on those fries.

Just make sure to save some room for the burger.

Did You Know?

David’s Burgers has nine locations throughout Central Arkansas, with a tenth spot coming to Hot Springs in December 2020. Also, each location has a drive-thru. This feature has helped the chain of restaurants continue to thrive during the pandemic.
