Rose Bud Off-Road Adventure Park

I

If you’ve ever accidentally gotten your vehicle stuck in a ditch, you may wonder why people would want to do that kind of thing for fun. I didn’t grow up riding a four-wheeler, so the first time my husband took me out mudding was one of the most freeing and exhilarating experiences I ever had. We climbed steep hills and rocks, barreled through mud and raced against friends. A little danger and a lot of mud were enough to get me hooked on the dirty side of country life.

All-terrain vehicles and four-wheel-drive vehicles are made for riding trails and getting muddy. The folks at the Rose Bud Off-Road Adventure Park hope to create what will become the “Disneyland of off-road parks” right here in central Arkansas. Grab your boots, some clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, and let’s go for a ride.

An Arkansas Off-Road Adventure

For nearly a year, the Rose Bud Off-Road Adventure Park has been a weekend hot spot for trail riders and off-roaders looking for a little mud and a lot of fun. The park has been a dream of owner Gary Knight for a long time. His vision is now his passion, and he’s pouring his heart and soul into new attractions, features and amenities.

Knight, known to most as “Ricochet,” has owned Ricochet’s Auto Salvage and Towing for years. He and his buddies would often spend weekends mudding on his property and began to build their personal playground. The adventure park continued to grow. They decided to share what they had made with the public opening in May of 2019 with their first Rebel Roots Muddy Boots Festival featuring bounty hole races, drag races and live concerts.

Rosebud Off-Road Adventure Park caters to a wide variety of vehicles from four-wheelers and side-by-sides to Jeeps, trucks and dirt bikes. Trails and features with names like The Swamp, The Pipeline, The Trench and Slippery Rock Loop mean riders are bound to have a great time. The park is still in its beginning stages, and while 30 acres may seem small, Knight has seen to it that his space is jam-packed with opportunities for every skill level of rider.

Knight hopes to turn his park into one of the premier destinations for trail riding, mudding and all things involving ATVs and other off-road vehicles. And, he plans to do it sooner than later.

Knight is in the process of acquiring nearly 500 acres of land to expand his growing park. He plans to add more trails and use the land’s natural features in conjunction with some man-made additions that will excite even the most skilled riders. For those who need it, Knight offers free winch-out service if the mud holes get the best of you.

Right now, participants need to bring their own vehicles to enjoy the park. Knight has plans to include vehicle rentals soon.

This adventure park isn’t just for riders. Spectators are welcome, and several areas have been created for visitors to sit back and watch the fun. They regularly host games, fireworks and bonfires. Primitive RV and tent-camping areas are also available. A full-service RV section and concession area will be opening soon.

Rose Bud Off-Road Adventure Park is open every day, all year long. The mud will wash off, but the memories will last forever, so head out to 479 County Line Road N. in Rose Bud, Arkansas.
