Central Arkansas is the heart of the Natural State, both literally and figuratively. It’s the home of the state’s capital, outdoor marvels, world-class entertainment and even a festival famous for toad races. Whether you’re looking for big-city excitement or small-town charm, you’re sure to find it here.

What to do

Central Arkansas is always in the middle of the action, and its appeal goes far beyond housing the state’s historic capital. In fact, history has been made in Central Arkansas on several occasions – just in Little Rock, visitors can learn about a critical moment in the Civil Rights Movement at Central High School National Historic Site or walk through the life of a president at the Clinton Presidential Library. Petit Jean State Park in Morrilton and Pinnacle Mountain in Little Rock are must-see spots for outdoor enthusiasts. And if you’re looking for entertainment, you can find it just about anywhere in Central Arkansas, whether it’s a play at the Arkansas Arts Center in Little Rock or a concert across the river at Verizon Arena in North Little Rock.
