Planning Your Solo Weekend Escape in Arkansas

S

Spring break is on the horizon. My son will be off from school, and my husband and I will get a little break from our teaching jobs. I love teaching, but being a mom is the most amazing job I have. Unfortunately, motherhood doesn’t provide vacation time, and sometimes, you need a break.

A solo weekend away is just what the doctor ordered. Just me, myself and a little slice of peace and tranquility. I probably can’t escape to a tropical paradise or anywhere far away, but living in central Arkansas means there is natural beauty and hidden gems right around the corner. A solo weekend of rejuvenation is just a short drive away.

Where to Find Your Bliss

Rest Your Weary Head

  • Cozy Cabins: Immerse yourself in nature with a cabin stay. You can enjoy solitude and scenery while still maintaining some of the comforts of home at these unique cabins.
  • Quaint B&Bs: Experience Southern hospitality in a charming bed and breakfast.
  • Unique Lodgings: If you’re looking for something different, consider a treehouse near Hot Springs or a glamping experience under the stars in the Ouachita National Forest. Arkansas is loaded with many unique lodging options we have to go back and visit a few more!

Solo Time Well Spent

And Don’t Forget

  • Disconnect to Reconnect: Put your phone on silent and savor the peace. This is your time to unplug and recharge.
  • Embrace the Unexpected: Be open to spontaneous adventures. You never know what hidden gems you might discover!
  • Come Back Refreshed: Allow yourself to truly relax and rejuvenate. You’ll return home feeling energized and ready to tackle the world, one superhero mom move at a time!

Pack your bags, hop in the car, and escape to your own slice of Arkansas paradise. I highly recommend a solo trip, but you can always bring a friend or your significant other. Just take time to take care of yourself. You deserve it!
